Use one of the delete duplicates scripts to help until the problem is
solved. Remove Duplicate Messages in a Folder Author: Allen Watson. Delete
Imported Duplicates X Author: Paul Berkowitz

FWIW, I have Comcast and rarely get batches of duplicates. I don't think we
can blame a particular provider because there are so many different servers
involved.

Check to see if there is a particular sender of the duplicates. I get
duplicates sometimes from a friend that has AOL. There are no other
duplicates so I'm thinking perhaps it's AOL that's at fault.
