Not so. But you will need to add a criterion for each variant. My
"subject" rule looks like this:

IF
Subject Contains <whatever>
Subject Contains <something else>
Subject Contains <name it>

(There are currently 20 of these criteria, most of which I probably don't
need any more, since they hail from the darkest days of SWEN, but they don't
hurt anything so I just leave them there.)

THEN
Move message: Junk E-mail
Change status: Read

Note that I have my JMF set to Exclusive. That doesn't allow the JMF to use
its built-in filters but I'm used to it that way. With this setting and my
own junk rules (most of which I ported over from Entourage 2001 where the
JMF was not so effective), I see maybe one junk email in my Inbox every 3-4
months. I also have "Message Body Contains" and "From Contains" rules and a
few others like one that deletes PC (and other dubious) attachments (.exe,
.scr, .pif, .bat, .pcx, .com).

While I believe I get fewer false negatives than the people who use the High
JMF setting, I do, however, get more false positives. The Exclusive setting
sends all posts from those not in my Address Book to the junk mail folder.
I don't mind, though; they're easy enough to pick out. YMMV of course.
