Turn DragThing off - quit it - before making a new identity. You're lucky
you only freeze - I crash. It depends partly on the computer's speed which
happens. DragThing is sending AppleEvents to the front process, or maybe all
processes, and that somehow crashes (or freezes) the "New Identity" window.

Alternatively, you can create an empty folder in ~/Documents/Microsoft User
Data/Office 2004 Identities/ and name it anything. Open Entourage and switch
to that identity, and a new one will be created there.
