Bob,

All good information, but that article most specifically addresses those problems as they related to Apple’s Mail application.  I’m not having an issue with Mail, in fact using Mail is my temporary workaround.  I’m only having issues with Entourage 2004 on a computer running Tiger.  I’ve been through the hoops of trying different encoding, using file extensions, etc., all to no avail.  The “Windows Friendly Attachments” feature in Mail does not seem to have a counterpart (at least not one by that name) in Entourage

To be clear, I’ve used Entourage since there’s been an Entourage and for years have daily sent messages in a almost pure Windows environment with attachments with no problem.  I was the ONLY Mac user for 11 years – now there’s one more – and I proudly interacted seamlessly

This seems to be a new issue related to how Entourage and Tiger interact.  Threads on several other sites (MacFixit in particular) indicate that mine is not an isolated case.   The most common corrective action has to do with removal or update of two programs:  LittleSnitch and Netbarrier.  I don’t use either of those applications.

The article in the link you provided also suggests zipping files that are giving problems.  In a previous post I explained why zipping is not an option for me.

Additional suggestions gratefully accepted.

Best Regards,

Ed O’Neal
