    Hmmm.  I did this once before with a cloned OS on an external drive and
when I dragged and dropped the icon of the HD into the window below
Spotlight's <Privacy> tab, the icon of the disk stayed there.

    When just now I did the same thing with the folder you suggested, I got
the green circle and + sign as I dragged it to the window, but when I let
go, the icon of the folder did not appear in the window.
    
    When I tried this operation using the Plus/Minus boxes under the
<Privacy> window, same thing.  The folder icon did not appear in the window.

    Should it have???
