Title: Crashing on Viewing Certain HTML Messages (Entourage X)
I get substantial email in HTML format and subscribe to several newsletters, one of which has, over the last few weeks, created problems when viewing its contents. All other messages read just as they should, as far as I can tell.
I checked FAQ's, one of which reads:
4) Entourage X crashes when trying to open Complex HTML Messages.
Drag Macintosh HD/Users/<Problematic User>/Library/Preferences/com.apple.internetconfig.plist and com.microsoft.explorer.plist to the Desktop. Re-launch Entourage, open a complex HTML message, and see if you experience another crash. If you do crash, move the Internet Preferences files back. If you don't, you can trash the Internet Preferences files.
I tried this out, still crashed, so replaced the two files. But, the FAQ doesn’t say what to do next if the crashing continues. Results in Error –192. I recently rebuilt the database, which has had no effect on this problem. No other message in it (opened in the last year) has produced this result (I trashed the earlier messages from this source).
I could email a copy of the most recent seizure-creating messages for diagnosis, or is the problem at my end? Open with care, however.
Advice sought.
