It's probably open in thee background (in slimmed down version), and comes to the front when checking and sending mail. Bring it to the front via Window menu/Progress. Then click its red Close button to close it. It should not intrude again. Except I just tried that, and it did the same thing once here too (on receive as well as send). But now it seems to have stopped. Strange.
