I'd like to thank everybody here who has helped me out with questions
about Entourage over the last several years. I really appreciate it,
and I hope my (very) occasional contributions helped a few folks.
I've just migrated my 1.6GB email database to Apple Mail. Searches
that took Entourage many minutes take Spotlight a few seconds, and in
the end that was too big of an enticement to switch. It's a shame.
I will miss many features of Entourage (especially the message
history and the calendar features), but for me, the graceful handling
of a large database (quickly switching folder views, searching, and
the ability to do sensible incremental backups) is the key.
I hope that Microsoft will continue the excellent work they have been
doing in the development of Entourage. Maybe someday I'll switch
back, and then I'll need all your help again.
