Your Entourage database is a Large file that is constantly changing.
Spotlight tries to index the contents of changed files.
Spotlight can't make sense of the data in the Entourage database.
Sooooo
We tell spotlight not to mess with that file to save computer
resources, and to let Entourage have unfettered acesss to the file.
The theory is that Entourage will behave better.
You have not "broken" anything by not doing this.
