I didn't quite get your original question. For your wife's Database Daemon
to be running at the same time, surely that means that she has a separate OS
_user folder_ (user account in System Preferences/Accounts), not merely a
separate Entourage identity? You really need to tell us the setup, Bryan, to
get an intelligent answer from any of us. If she simply has a separate
Entourage identity she gets to via "Switch identity" in the Entourage menu
item, I'd be surprised if her Daemon was running at the same time as yours.
If she has a separate OS user, then naturally it could, but again it's
surprising that hers has a different name ("Microsoft Database Daemon").

As Barry says, that means she's actually running a different version, and
copy, of Entourage. So do you two have your own Applications folders inside
your own user folders, or is one of you, but not the other, using Entourage
in the Microsoft Office 2004 folder in /Applications, or what exactly? (You
couldn't have two copies of Microsoft Office 2004, named the same, in
/Applications. Could your wife even be using Entourage X from a Microsoft
Office X folder? I can't actually recall at which version change the Daemon
changed its name, whether it was the origin 2004 11.0 or a later update such
as SR1 2004 11.1.)

In any case, it should be possible to kill it, even from a plain
AppleScript, but it would be best to know what the setup is first.

PLEASE always state which version of Microsoft Office you are using -
**2004**, X or 2001. It's often impossible to answer your questions
otherwise.
