Hi all!

I've been synchronizing Entourage 2004 with my Treo 650 for a few
months now. By and large it does a great job. The ability to specify
sets of data that don't sync is especially useful, so that I can keep
Entourage as the complete repository for data and put only what's
immediately relevant on the Treo to take with me. However, I've
encountered one major problem and one minor quirk with this behavior.

Most significantly and surprisingly, I noticed that all of the
sync-able items EXCEPT for notes have the ability to define categories
which will not sync. (This seems counterintuitive, since notes is the
data set that's likely to get the most unwieldy if it's regularly
used.) In Entourage I've been using notes for two purposes: to
organize and archive text clippings and other pieces of information,
and to track temporary lists of data (shopping lists, books / music /
movies to keep an eye out for, Web sites to check out, etc).

Wading through all the archived data in search of the temporary list
data on the Treo is getting really frustrating. I want JUST the
temporary lists of data to be on the Treo (which is where I enter most
of that information). Is there any way at all to do this? Is
Microsoft ever going to update the conduit and add this setting for
notes?

The other thing I've seen is in the calendar. I've tried to use the
"synchronize only events in this date range" feature -- but when
that's set, synchronization seems to stop working altogether. I can
create events on the Palm and sync and they don't show up on
Entourage, and vice versa. Turn off the date range feature and
everything starts syncing perfectly again. Has anyone else seen this?
This isn't that big a problem (synchronizing the entire calendar is a
bit wasteful but doesn't mess up the UI) but it's something I'd like
to fix if possible... is it?

Thanks!
Mark
