Usually, it was accidental, akin to accidentally dropping an icon from the
Dock. My friend this time was moving tons of stuff from his Documents folder
and must have roped it in, unaware. Others didn't have any idea what they
did. In my case, it happened the first time when I tried to install my
Office data on a second computer via a Zip disk or flash drive.

In any case, it happens too often, enough so most of us have heard the tale
more than twice. Someone here mentioned a repair tech who mentioned being
called to resolve this time and time again. There's enough awareness of the
issue to at least address it.
