I switched my main accounts to IMAP from POP a few weeks ago and have been having some of these issues as well. I was hoping someone else more knowledgeable would answer. > With POP I used rules to move incoming mail to certain folders or even as > part of the Mailing List Manager. Sometimes they take a while to move. I don't use "unread" view but I see the same thing. Messages appear first in the Inbox, then move to the folder the rule sends them to. Mine happens pretty quickly but my mail server is on the same computer. Since this move process involves communicating with the IMAP server (which is not true when applying rules to POP messages), I assume the speed of the move is related to the speed of your link to the server. It seems to be a quirk (bug?) in Entourage. Comsmetic more than anything else. > I have a schedule in Entourage that deletes messages in certain folders that > are over so many days old. I do the same thing and you're right, scheduled deletes only can act on local folders. What I've done is created a rule to do the delete: If date received is greater than whatever, Folder is "name of IMAP folder", then Move Message to Deleted Items on the same IMAP server. Note that I have this account set to move items I delete to "Deleted Items" and to empty "Deleted Items" on quit (I don't think emptying on quit is the default). The rule is not mark as enabled - that way it can only be invoked manually. To use it, go to the folder, select all messages, and invoke it from Message -> Apply Rule. That's the best I've been able to come up with. -- Larry Stone [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.stonejongleux.com/ -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
