Actually, Allen's method is not the one I would recommend (no offense, Allen :-), though it does leave your prefs intact. Here's my take: if you've gotten to the point where you've exhausted other troubleshooting procedures and reinstalling is your best option, then do a *clean* reinstall. That means running the Remove Office tool to get rid of the apps *and* the prefs. (You can always back up the prefs files and reinstall them later if you want to.)
Then reinstall Office, update it, and repair disk permissions. If anyone is interested in a step-by-step, there's one here: <http://word.mvps.org/Mac/RemoveReinstall.html> -- Beth Rosengard MacOffice MVP Mac Word FAQ: <http://word.mvps.org/Mac/WordMacHome.html> On 5/17/06 10:42 AM, "Lindsley Williams" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Allan offers a good idea, but I would suggest two supplemental steps, both of > which add to the overall effort). > > First, consider deleting the related MS Office preference files; they can be > rebuilt as applications require.
