No. smptauth is just part of earthlink's host name for port 587 sending.
While it's possible your provider has a similar name, there is certainly
nothing standard about. Earthlink could have just as easily called is
somefunkyname.earthlink.com.

The best thing to do is contact your ISP hosting johnfquinn.com for you
(ipowerweb.com) and ask them if they support authenticated sending via 587
or some other port. Don't rely on instructions for other ISPs as those
instructions won't apply to you.
