I thought 11.2.3 fixed something as well.....if message syncing is not important (meaning you are on net all the time) then set partially receive messages on and set the value to a high number, this way the messages will not download.
You can also try adding the users MS User Data Folder found in their documents folder to the Spotlight privacy for the user.
