Title: Managing email views using "Arrange by" feature

In Entourage, when selecting “Arrange by....sent” ~ the default is to show the entire list with all the messages visible ~ that is, with all the sender names clamshelled “open.”

That makes it hard to simply scroll down and pick out the name I want to look at.

I’d like to set the default so that when I “arrange by sent” the senders’ names are “closed” ~ that is, only the names show, not the emails. (Does that make sense?)

Now, I’m aware that I could use the search box to search for a specific sender, but I like being able to see the entire list of sender names. I’d just prefer the default view to be “names closed” for lack of a better way of describing it.

Is there a script perhaps that will do this? I’ve searched around but found nothing. Perhaps I’m not familiar enough with the terminology to search effectively. (For example, what are those little open-and-close arrows to the left of the names called?)
