I know this is a generalized entourage list but I have a question about the 11.3 update in general.
When I try to apply it (to multiple machines) it gives me an, “The installer could not locate the correct version of the software to update…” It detects that it needs the update through Microsoft AutoUpdate but still gives this error. I have tried downloading the update and installing it that way, but same error. I also tried getting different version updates (11.2.1, 11.2.3, 11.2.5) and those give the same error as well.
The current version of the office programs is 11.2.6
Do you also have another copy of Office 2004 on your computer - perhaps the Test Drive? Use Remove Office (in Additional Tools) to remove that and empty the trash.
If not, you'll have to use Remove Office to remove your current version, empty the trash, reinstall Office 2004 from the CD, then apply 11.3 updater.
Remove Office will not touch any of your data, including Entourage identities, messages, etc. It will all be there when you reinstall.
