Renaming the current Main Identity won't do any good - you need to find the old Main Identity, which has your address book and old emails and all the things you don't want to lose. What you're looking for is Microsoft User Data - is there something called that in the trash? Or anywhere other than in your Documents folder where the "new" MUD is? Your problem is that you've misplaced your old Main Identity (its name can be anything you want, but it's the place where Entourage stores all of your information, and if you don't have your information that's because you've lost your "old" Main Identity. Hopefully you can find it by searching for Microsoft User Data and finding it someplace other than in the Documents folder.
