Odd one here, and I hope someone can advise. I was trying, over the phone, to sort out a backup problem that one of my clients was having, and in pulling all the information together we found that the modification time of the Entourage database was not changing between launches. So when the backup was run the files were not being copied, even though emails had been sent and received when Erage was running.
I checked that the clock on the desktop was changing correctly, and that we were looking at the correct database (been caught with that one before). The backup is a simple network drive (Buffalo) and the software is the free SilverKeeper from LaCie. The three other scripts work fine, and the customer is very careful to quit Erage before running the script. Before I take a trip over to the client, has anyone seen something like this before, and what was the conclusion, as obviously any backup system might have problems if the modification time does not change. Many thanks in anticipation, and the compliments of the season to everyone. John Blagden The Blagden Consultancy Telephone: 0870 350 7505 Facsimile: 0870 220 3092 Fax [EMAIL PROTECTED]
