Yes. And you're preventing the OS from doing it's nightly cleanup, as Steve said. I leave my G5 on pretty much all the time. Every two weeks or so, I give it a break and shut it down. Probably not necessary, but it's hard not to anthropomorphize these machines and everyone needs a rest once in a while :-).
