We have a policy in our office of *not* opening any attachments directly from Entourage. Every time you open an attachment directly from an email, it saves a copy of the attachment in the MUD "saved attachments" folder. This can add up quickly if you always refer to documents by opening them from email, especially since it will make a copy for each time you open the file. Although this wouldn't apply to PDFs, we've also had problems where people open an attachment from email, edit it, then can't find it after they close it (and are confused about where their edits went when the open it again directly from the email).
