I receive messages from several people on corporate (Windows-based) systems. I'm unable to select text from these messages to incorporate in replies. When I mouse over the text, it highlights while I'm creating the selection, but when I complete the boundaries of the selection (finish dragging my mouse cursor), the selection disappears and I cannot copy it.
Some of these messages contain background images. I must admit I haven't paid attention to whether that's a consistent finding. Any idea why this happens? Is there info in the header that might help explain what's happening? Is this some strange security feature (sending text as an image - if so, how is it that I SEEM to be able to select text until I stop dragging the cursor?)
