Lately, if I log out or shut down my G5 iMac running 10.4.10 and version
11.3.6 of Entourage, I am getting a small window with a barber pole stating
<Purging folders>.

I never got this in the past and it can take up to a minute before it
disappears and logoff proceeds. Frequently it is followed with another
alert window <Logout has timed out because the application Entourage has
failed to quit> requiring me to force quite Entourage in order to log off.

I recently changed two of my schedules from <Delete from Delete folder
60+ days/Next Startup> and <Delete from Sent Items Folder 60+ days/Next
Startup>.

These used to be 120+ days, but I dropped them to 60+ days instead.

Would this account for the appearance of this message? But why won't
Entourage just purge the folders and then simply quit and not make me have
to force quit Entourage instead?

    Many thanks,
    Bob
