 It is a bit picky it seems. I am in Australia which uses the 12 hour AM/PM
system as a default view. Ent 2008 refuses to acknowledge a 24 hour custom
time view attached to the other Australian preferences.

It works only when you choose another international view with a 24 hour
default time view. Strange. Anyway I switched to a UK setup which uses the
24 hour default time view and changed my other preferences as required. It
works like that. 

An Ent restart is needed.
