Some numbers from my machine
Entourage 20-30 seconds, can be 20, can be 30. About twice the time
of Apple Mail. Apple Mail always less than 10 seconds.
Word 13-25-26 seconds. Usually takes the slow end. Pages 7 seconds
Excel 5 - 12 seconds. Numbers 4 -5 seconds... Aabel 4 seconds
Powerpoint 15-18 seconds Keynote 4 seconds
MacPro Intel 2*2.66Ghz, 5Gb memory, ATI xt1900, applications on
internal hard drive, many hard drives internal/external.

Test in a new User with a blank Entourage Identity and see what the

It's 25 seconds before Entourage fully opens for me. I get the chime
at 22
seconds. I'm running: G4 Dual 1.42 GHZ, Memory 2GB, Mac OS X 10.5.2
It would be interesting to see what other users are seeing and what
their
setup is for comparison.
Q: Are there any tricks to getting 2008 apps to load quicker?
Do you use Suitcase or another Font application? Did you restart and
clear
your caches after installing? This is a basic after any install. Using
Repair Permissions is also suggested. Even though it does not repair
any
Microsoft permissions, it does on the system permissions that are
used by
Office. Many users have installed Leopard and Office 2008 at the
same time.
Leopard needs more RAM. Each individual computer is different. Each
user
will see different results.
