I have a problem with E2K8 that I *think* cannot be got round but thought I
would ask here.
We have a situation where I need to use authenticated LDAP on a remote
server for address lookup. The remote LDAP server is NOT a part of the
domain. On Outlook 2003 and 2007 when I tick "My server requires me to log
on" I can enter credentials for the LDAP server. On E2K8 that option does
not exist.
I assume therefore that E2K8 assumes that when you tick that box it will use
the Exchange/Domain mail account username and password, which is NOT what we
need to make this work.
So firstly can someone confirm that I am not insane and this is what happens
by design, and secondly, is there a workaround that I can use to get this
working, either in some configuration or plist file?
All other aspects of E2K8 work fine, although I can't believe we are still
waiting for native MAPI support
