Why don't you and Tony get together and see about measuring the volume of the 
big old gum tree?  It would be a benchmark for the species.  If you set a date, 
maybe I could make it over to help.

  The Black Gums in Bear Swamp NJ are not quite as fat, but they are
  twenty feet taller.  They may be in the running also.  From memory,
  they were 12 x 90.  These trees were cross dated to be 450 years old.
  The Gum I recently presente is about 280 years old.
