The flick isn't really gory at all... not compared to the likes of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Jason/Freddie movies, and others out there that I have always refused to see since they are so gory... however, there is a theme of violence in "The Caveman's Valentine"... but it's really a story of a whodunnit, love, family, respect, perserverance, dignity amidst the nutsoness of it all, wonderful piano music, etc. The cave is where the hero lives (played by Samuel Jackson). Lee and Bob/Monica would likely really enjoy the piano tunes. If you've ever known anyone tormented periodically by schizophrenia, like a lot of shellshock victims from WWII to the present, you might find the flick an interesting study of what the flick writer thinks is what's going on within the mindset of such a tormented individual... anyway, the credits said the site of the cave was in Inwood Park and I aim to find it!
