I would guess those trees to be at least pushing 200 years old. They
are on 52nd street, but that part of town wasn't developed till after
the first world war and I would guess the street has only been paved
50 years or so. Still due to the size and location, I suspect that was
an old country lane or road before. Nearby is the old White Bluff Road
which dated back to perhaps the late 17 hundreds and is still lined
with large old oaks. When the city wanted to improve White Bluff Rd
back in the 1970's, they did it so as not to remove the trees. The
north bound lane goes up between the old oak trees while the
southbound lane goes out side of them.
