Bob-
Pasting what seems to me on first read is a disturbing exchange...
"3. Nature Conservancy Sells 92,000 Acres in
Adirondacks

March 30 – The Nature Conservancy (TNC) has announced an agreement to sell
92,000 acres of protected forestland to Danish pension fund ATP, an investor
client of RMK Timberland Group. The land is part of the 161,000 acres that The
Nature Conservancy purchased from Finch Paper LLC in 2007.

According to TNC, the land, which is protected by a conservation easement, will
ultimately be acquired and managed by the New York State Department of
Environmental Conservation, and will permit continued recreational leasing and
eventually include some recreational access to places that have been off-limits
to the public for at least a century.

Subject: [ENTS] Remarkable Trees of Virginia

ENTS,

A new coffee table book entitled "Remarkable Trees of Virginia" is a
pretty good buy. It has good photos of many handsome trees and the usual
quoting of mismeasured trees. The anecdotal misinformation and the legacy of
the clinometer measurers run deep. We shall not overcome for many years. I'll
give a more complete report in a few days when I've perused the book.

Bob
