Peter,

No, but the context at the time was a bit flip.

Are you suggesting being called a tree fanatic is a bad thing?

Bob,

I'd like to get the book. Sad thing is two of the authors have known about
ENTS for four and ~10 years respectively. We had once been called "tree
fanatics" on the VA big tree website, and I am glad a link to ENTS is on
their homepage! But yes, an uphill battle.

ENTS,

A new coffee table book entitled "Remarkable Trees of Virginia" is a
pretty good buy. It has good photos of many handsome trees and the usual
quoting of mismeasured trees. The anecdotal misinformation and the legacy of
the clinometer measurers run deep. We shall not overcome for many years.
I'll give a more complete report in a few days when I've perused the book.

Bob
