Jenny,
You ought to find your way over to Inwood Hill Park in Manhattan sometime. In
any websites or literature I've read, that park is described as old growth.
They say no trees have been cut down since the 1700s. I think it's in
Washington Heights or somewhere like that. It may be near The Cloisters. I'm
not sure. I know it's on the City Parks website though. But it sounds like a
great park to visit, and very natural. If I lived near NYC, that would be on my
list to visit.
