Excellent account of the trip.  It sounds like the valley ws one worth checking 
out!  The Dutchman's hammock was Dutchman's pie vines?  It is sad to see the 
great hemlocks become a dead trelis for lichens/  I am sure there have been 
studies of the canopy species of moss and lichens in the park?  It seems to a 
large degree that everything else being moe or less equal that the greater the 
rainfall, the greater diversity of the epiphytic species.  It is nice to see yu 
posting about big trips again.  I hope you and your family are well.
