Good question- I've seen some tall, lanky Dogwoods in the forest of the
Piedmont region, but I'm not sure exactly how tall they can get. Are they
included on any current ENTS lists?

Awesome! I'd like to find out about any tall or large
forest-grown Cornus florida that may exist. I'm wondering how tall the species
can get under the right conditions.

This Cornus florida is the largest urban dogwood I've
ever seen. The first limb alone is thicker than most other dogwood trunks. It
grows next to a church parking lot in midtown Atlanta- fully open grown.

                        Dimensions:
                        CBH: 6.2'
                        Height: 30'
                        Spread: 40'

The height and spread are measurements from Trees
Atlanta and likely will be updated as part of my endeavor to update the Atlanta
Champion Tree List. I have serious doubts that this tree is 30' tall, but it's
still quite impressive.

                          Eli,

When you visit the dogwood (Cornus florida ?) I would
be interested in seeing the measurements and photos of the tree. I have not
seen one that big.
