Ed and Joe,

Thanks for watching it. It needs a lot of work: pacing, editing etc... and some
more short titles,

But I got the outline music-wise. The piece is so lovely isn't it? It's called
"Down a Country Lane" by Aaron Copland. Sweet and melancholy. Got LOADS of
sweet and melancholy music!

The program I used was all in imovie, I can crop and add a "Ken Burns Effect"!
My stills are actually better than the video. I would get so distracted by the
birds because there were so many of them.

I met several kids who lived in the neighborhood around the park and they were
fascinated by the birds AND the trees! I think I was able to teach them London
Plane, Gingko, and White Pine. I kept scooping sap out of the pine and chasing
them around with it. They compared it to blood. Had to admit that is was in a
way??

Also they had to put up with me talking about mourning doves ad nauseum. I gave
them an old tree guide and an old bird guide and a a few pages of pictures I
took of the birds and a few group photos. So, a burgeoning crop of nature
lovers in a Mexican neighborhood in Queens (where there is the best Italian Ice
shop anywhere in the world). They even helped me bury the birds who had been
killed by hawks. I'll miss them. They'll call if they see any more.

So, now the birds are in the hands of qualified yet really nasty
rehabilitators. They are seriously mean. I asked how they were doing and where
they were going to be going and I got the most offensive phone call I have ever
received. No good deed goes....

I guess a lot of people who care for animals don't like people at all.

So, there's my gripe. Thanks again for watching.

Now I have to start working on an oak tree id project Steve G gave me. (I'm
giving him a classical music one, ha!)

Anyone want to go to Boulder, Colorado for Labor Day to study night migration
of passerines? Birding Club of America I think. Class is free, accommodations
not.$99/night for 3 nights + airfare. Can share cars. ?Just thought I'd ask...

Hope I'm back in the world of trees mostly.?

Microsoft offers a free program
called Photo Story which can do such tricks.

Jennifer,

Excellent News! I was wondering how the dove situation was
progressing.? I have been out for a couple of days and was just going to
check on your Facebook page.? I thought the video was fine and
worth?atching.? What was the music you used in the background??
I see you have incorporated a number of still photos into the video.?
What did you use to zoom and pan across the stills?
