Bob,

No, this is entirely your bailiwick. As the cofounder and sent from my iPhone
member of the ENTS, it is up to you to make the monthly pronouncements. I
remember in the 70's Pittsburgh Pirate baseball slugger took it upon himself to
give out Stargell's Stars to various Pirate Players. He would award them on
whatever basis he felt like, and would on occasion take them away. People who
would hit game winning hits would get a star. A great day stealing bases would
get a star. In one instance, Kent Tekulve, a relief pitcher, played a few
innings in the outfield. On one high flying ball he ran to catch it and
instead it hit him on the head. That earned him a star. The decisions were
arbitrary and capricious - something that you could do very well, so I hereby
declare you to be in charge of monthly, or weekly tree dude and dudette awards.

  Ed,

Argument well taken. It appears that with all the great stuff going on
that we have to have co-tree dudes of the month. Dale, Will, Larry, you, and
Barry are all up for the title. Others can qualify also.

Right now Beth and Jenny are in the running for co-tree dudesses.

Maybe by the end of the month we can vote on Big Tree Dude of the
month and similarly for Dudess. Whoever gets the most votes wins the title. All
others who get votes would be Co-Tree Dudes and Dudesses. Since everybody could
vote for themselves, everybody could be included. Hey, this is getting
complicated. Time for me to back out and turn it over to you, Ed. You betcha.

    Bob,

It is a tough call. Look at the brilliant report Will wrote of his work in
the Whitikaer Forest of California (at least part two was published this
month). There is Dale teaching teachers about Old Growth for the next
generation, There are more big live oaks by Live Oak Larry, being only 10
inches that is pretty impressive for him. Barry has posted more reports and
videos of the Pine Barrens. Thee are your own exploits in Massachusetts. So
there are many candidates. If it is Tree Dude of the Month - then this has all
happened since August 1, and this is only the 10th. There is time for others
to take the prize, be they a dude or a dudette.
