Bob:

West Virginia is an incredible place to live. The people are friendly and
there is plenty of open space for everyone. The only drawbacks are
outrageously corrupt politics and a pathetic environmental record that would
make Louisiana blush...a big step will be to stop mountaintop removal but that
is a few decades away.

The environmental and political problems are not enough to make me even
consider moving back to Massachusetts...after 20 years in the boondocks I
cannot imagine spending much time in a place where you can't count the stop
lights or stop signs....Calhoun County where I live has no stop lights...Wirt,
the county to our north has no stop lights and Gilmer County the county to
our east has one and Roane County to our west has 4 in the county seat of
Spencer.

If you ever do start looking around I'd suggest looking up a copy of an old
publication...the 55 states of West Virginia.

You guys post what you find. WV is one of my favorite places in the
world. My wife and I are seriously thinking of moving there when we
retire.
