If I remember my National Geographic article from 1956 correctly, it said that tree was found to be 6000 years old. But I would need to check for sure. I could be wrong on that. My first response was that it was the worst idea anyone ever came up with, and the fact that he actually went ahead with it was shocking to me. I will have to read the article (which I forgot about after I posted my first response). Barry
