Cool article. Thanks for sharing it with us. The bristlecone pine reminded me of an article my brother emailed me about a year ago. The article was ``world's oldest tree'' or something like that. He has always been vilified for his role cutting a bristlecone pine, the Prometius tree, which upon ring counting turned out to be the oldest living thing known on Earth at around 4900 years. This article gives another side of the story. He had a long and productive career before his death in 2004.
