ENTS,

"The annual Orionid meteor shower is expected to rain down the greatest number
of meteors before dawn on Wednesday October 21, 2009. The moon is out of the
way this year. It will be a good year for watching the Orionids!

As usual, the best time to watch this shower will be between the hours of
midnight and dawn.

You might see some meteors on either side of the peak morning, too. You can try
watching Tuesday morning, October 20. But Wednesday and Thursday mornings -
October 21 and 22 - are likely to offer more meteors. And the morning of
October 21 is likely to produce the richest display of Orionid meteors in 2009.

Meteors in annual showers are named for the point in our sky from which they
appear to radiate. The radiant point for the Orionids is in the direction of
the constellation Orion the Hunter. Hence the name Orionids."
