Remember the tree on the edge of the parking lot that I was trying to key
out?  I think that was Nyssa sylvatica, Black tupelo; blackgum.  My study
notes for Dendro say the fruit looks like a dried raisin and that was just
like the berry I mentioned to you.  The bark we are discussing was from the
tree near the Native American rock site and if that was Quercus prinus,
Chestnut oak;rock oak, shame on me.  I don't see these species often so I'm
trying to refresh my mind in the forest.
