Paul,
I could have gotten my "facts" incorrect, and I really appreciate
the assistance. My son (third grade) came home from school with the science
question, and I couldn't find it online-you're a life saver!!

Phil,
There is a fungus known as "bubblegum fungus" on the west coast. It is said
to smell like it but isn't said to taste like it. Anyway, it grows on
numerous conifers. I'm not sure if it's safe to taste!

Ents,
I'm in search of which tree a fungi/mushroom tasting like
bubble-gum grows. I've been attempting to search online, but without the
mushroom itself I can't key it out. Any help?
