Phil,
A good example is in the Amanita group of species. There are a couple that are
edible and taste good. But there are also a couple others that will kill you.
I'd be afraid to touch any of them. We get a lot of Amanitas around here. But
they scare me.

Ed,

I hear ya about eating wild mushrooms.  There are so many edible and
poisonous species that look alike I wouldn’t attempt it unless I was POSITIVE
of the species.

Phil,

I did not reply, because I never heard of the stuff.  I am not big on eating
things that don't come from fast food places.  There is a class of fungi called
Jelly fungi that look sort of like bubble gum, but I a told they don't taste
like it.  They are edible, but so many fungi are poisonous, someone had better
be sure what species something is before they eat it.
