Chris

Dan Sperduto of NH Natural Heritage Program discovered it and dated it. He
is the one to contact. I haven't had any contact with him in years. Maybe you
can contact him. I last saw Dan at the Old Growth conference that we held in
New Hampshire in 2004.

Bob, I work right in Concord N.H. If you email me the address of the black Gum
tree, I can try to get some photos of it for the ENTS site.

Jennie,

The oldest we know of is a black Gum near Concord, NH. When it was cored it was
determined to be 679 years old. That was at least 5 years ago. Giving it a
couple of year to reach core height, today it is about 686 years old.

Quick question. How old is the oldest known tree in New England, what
is it and where is it located? I know I have the answer somewhere in
my notes, but I can't seem to find it.

Thanks,
Jennie
