I've been tracking the temperatures for Embarrass, MN and
Stanley, ID. So far Stanley is winning hands down as the icebox. At
present Embarrass is -13F and Stanley is -23. I realize that this
situation will likely change when winter really arrives, but Stanley
appears to be a sink for cold air.
Mountain valleys in Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and Colorado are
significantly cold places in the winter. They may warm up during the
day more than the Minnesota cold spots. We'll see.
