Larry,
Good job. I got a 132 feet and some change when Monica and I visited Big Oak Tree State Park a few years ago. I got 140 feet out of a slender cottonwood that was off trail on that trip. It was an ENTS record at the time. But alas, the record was short lived. Will and Jess reported back from Meeman Shelby State Park near Memphis and the game was over. They got 154 feet out of a cottonwood there, if I remember correctly. Meeman Shelby is on my list of must visits. Wow what an awesome place. I know many of you have been there before but this was my first time. I only stayed an hour or so but still enjoyed every minute of the visit. The only tree I accurately measured was the State Co-Champion Burr Oak. I got CBH-18' 2", Height-132.39' and Spread-78' x 98.5'. A very impressive Oak and the largest of its kind that I've ever seen. I will return there in the future for a more lenghtly stay, I saw some Black Willow to over 100', and did notice the storms had blown the tops out of most of Forest. However, I think this place will in the future produce some record heights and may have some surprises if a detailed study was done. Some photos of the Burr Oak.
