This recent talk of the Sibley Guide to trees (which I've never heard of) reminds me of something I discovered in the late 90s or early 2000s, i.e. traditional field guides for trees, wildflowers, etc., are nearly useless here in the NJ Pine Barrens (How's that for a run-on sentence?). This is why I was so happy when I discovered the Field Guide to the NJ Pine Barrens. It covers all forms of life that can be found here, from trees, shrubs, wildflowers, etc., to mammals, reptiles, birds, etc., and everything in between. I love it, and highly recommend it. http://tinyurl.com/ykontf2 Barry P.S.- the author of this guide is 94 years old this year, and finished his last book about one year ago. I heard him give a talk a little over a year ago. He's really good.
