Bob-

Not from my back yard (I'd be happy to say YIMBY (yes, in my back yard!)), I've
got tiny spruce and birches, backed up by 100' cottonwoods...time to move!

Don,

Go for Baroque. Good one. I'm disappointed in myself that I didn't think of it.

Earlier today, I decided to check on Monica's Pine. At this time of year, her
tree's crown can be seen from our upstairs bedroom window, which gives me a
higher vantage point to view the crown. From the spot I chose to measure
Monica's pine, the distance from my eye to the top twig was 42.5 yards. I
obtained this reading repeatedly as the light gradually changed. The crown
angle was 45.8 degrees, which was an average of 10 readings. That gave me 91.4
feet above eye level. The distance to the base was computed by a similar method
of repeated shooting. The distance was 37 yards at an angle to 22.6 degrees.
This produced 42.7 feet. Let's see now, 91.4 + 42.7 = 134.1 feet. Monica's
pine stands a mere 87 feet from our back door. Can anyone in ENTS top that for
a tall tree so close to their front or back door and on their property? Say
within 100 feet of a door?

While I'm in email mode, I'll share four backyard scenes. I took the images
only about 30 minutes ago with my trusty iPhone camera. Images follow.

TulipsAndPine.jpg: The image of the right is a tuliptree that measures 129.0
feet. The one on the left is about 124.5 feet. The tree in the background is
Monica's pine.

MonicasPine.jpg: This is the champ.

SarahAndPhoepe's Pine.jpg: This exceptionally attractive pine stands 126.0 feet
tall.

Oakie's Cousin.jpg: This is one of the several 100-foot oaks behind our house.
Two of the oaks are named Oakie and Doakie (instead of Okie and Dokie).

Jenny,

Don speaks for others of us as well- your Ent sisters and brothers. Your video
creations reflect the true spirit of ENTS. Please, keep them coming. I
anxiously await a video (or videos) presented to a background of baroque. Hint.
Hint.
