There is a position in our Amsterdam office from early June, to
manage our voluntary programme (European Voluntary service); to
work
on
networking and approaching new groups and persons, and work
with the team on general administration of grants, reports, our
network committee, organising meetings, developing our web page
etc. The person chosen will be interested in a co-operating work
style, environment and social issues;a combination of hard work
and 'hard play', have a flexible mentality and enjoy work travelling
during your time here.

Working for EYFA will give you the opportunity to take on
responsibility (we have no bosses), practice your fundraising
ability, project management, report writing as well as international
networking and consensus decision-making. At the same time you
will be an active part of the EYFA network itself, and have access
to a lot of environmental campaign information.

Volunteers in the office also receive an allowance to cover living
expenses, travel and accommodation and time for holidays equal
to the others from the office team.

CRITERIA
* You should be available for at least 12 months (but be open to
stay a year and half or more depending on our funds) and be willing
to pass on your experience to the person who will follow after you.
* Basic knowledge in project management, budget writing, fund
raising/application writing and organising is important. As is
enthusiasm for gaining experience in networking, outreach, and
computer skills.
* We are especially interested in you if you have experience in
working with alternative youth NGOs, non-hierarchical groups,
campaigns or direct action.
* You should have an active interest in environmental, social and
community issues;
* a willingness to take equal part in eyfa's consensus based
community, welcoming self-initiative, responsibility and
participation in the group decision making of the network and daily
life within the office.
* A good level of spoken and written English is required, but
preference will be given to non-native English speakers, because
there are too few of them in the office at the moment. Additional
language skills are desirable.
*Looking forward to meet the challenges of alternative living in
Amsterdam.

SELECTION PROCESS
There will be a 3-stage selection process. Starting when you send a
letter of motivation and your CV either by email or regular post.
Five candidates will be chosen and given the chance to ask and
answer more in depth questions - also by mail. Our final choice will
be made after a telephone interview. If you are not far away, you
are very welcome to visit us to see if you like it here.

DEADLINE:
We will receive applications until 1 may. Responses to written
